About Us
Founder
Areti Gourzis
Areti graduated from Duke University in 1999. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Maryland, which she earned in 2008. Areti’s career began in Information Technology and evolved over time into product management and business strategy, with emphasis on physical and cyber security. Her background is in the commercial corporate sector, but it has afforded her the experience and knowledge to start her own small business, leading to the establishment of NOVA IV Therapy in 2025.
While Areti is not medical practitioner of any kind, she strongly believes in integrative and functional medicine as the first line of defense for both acute and chronic illness. She values the life-saving nature of conventional standards of medical care but also knows first-hand the detriments of poor root cause diagnosis of one’s health. She is pleased to be partnered with Sterling Wellness to ensure comprehensive functional medicine care is available to NOVA IV Therapy patients.
In her spare time, Areti enjoys hanging out with her family, tasting new and different cuisines during the occasional girls-night-out, and going on walks with her pups.
Areti's Healing Journey
Areti is the founder of NOVA IV Therapy, which was established in 2025. Areti is not a medical practitioner of any kind. She is a patient who was in the fight of her life from 2007 – 2015. After struggling for several years with mysterious pains that would come and go, she was diagnosed with neurological Lyme disease that had developed into a chronic condition. Her body hurt every day, there were debilitating headaches (trigeminal neuralgia), the onset of Bell’s Palsy, deep-set fatigue, and general malaise that was too insurmountable to overcome with willpower alone.

Not trusting the efficacy of anti-biotics and knowing her sensitivity to them, she sought an alternative approach to bring herself to cure. She tried herbs, essential oils, diet and lifestyle changes, heavy-metal detox, homeopathic remedies, and more. Everything helped, but nothing cured. Through her own tenacity and some divine guidance, she found Ozone IV therapy. Information about Ozone IV therapy was limited at the time and so were medical establishments willing to offer it in the United States.
By 2016, Areti found a place three hours from home that she travelled to every week, only to later find out that her IV procedures had not been administered in effective doses. A few months later, she found a medical office locally in Sterling, VA, and that’s when her astounding recovery truly began. Areti was administered MAH, 10- Pass, Hemealumen light therapy, and several other IV protocols, including Myers’ Cocktail, Glutathione, and high-dose Vitamin C over the course of 18 months. She will be the first one to tell you that there is no magic pill, but that with the right nutrients, the body can heal.
Over the years, Areti sought IV Services for her whole family, with Ozone, Myer’s Cocktails, Glutathione, and Vitamin C as part of their healing protocols as well. These IV services supported them through Lyme, Flu, Covid, Arthritis, pre-cancer indicators, broken bones, AFib, and a myriad of other ailments.
Like all patients suffering from a chronic disease, Areti evolved into a warrior for her own health and her family’s well-being. She understands that’s what you must do to overcome the adversities of illness. You must become your own loudest advocate and fight every day with both grace and persistence.
When Areti learned that one of the few local medical offices that offers Ozone was closing its doors and that Ozone might become inaccessible to her and her loved ones, she activated. She decided to open an IV infusion center, knowing that it could also help others, i.e. her fellow warriors facing similar struggles. It’s Areti’s fervent desire to provide a place for weary warriors to come find the healing they’ve been seeking in an unexpected but blessed way.
This incredible mission is only made possible through the actual medical staff who can provide the IV procedures made available at NOVA IV Therapy. They are the unsung heroes of Areti’s story. May they become your heroes too. Keep the faith and fight on.

Our Office
Front Desk
The Tree of Life at our Front Desk is a nod to the interconnectedness of all things, which is very representative of functional medicine.
While there are many interpretations for the Tree of Life, for our practice, it’s a testament to the roots we grow through our experiences and the strengths we build through our challenges.
It also happens to symbolize rebirth and a fresh start, which is fitting for the mission we want to achieve with and for our patients.
Waiting Room
From check-in to check-out, we aim to provide our patients with a very comfortable experience at our office.
We provide reverse osmosis, alkaline water as a commitment to clean hydration, and recently added a coffee station as well.
We understand how hectic life can be, so our goal is always to start your appointment on time, but if we’re running behind, we aim to make your wait time less than 15 minutes.
Ozone and IV Therapy Room
One of the first things you’ll notice in our IV Therapy Room is the Phoenix artwork on the far wall. The Phoenix is another symbol of rebirth and strength. Some mythologies even claim it has healing powers. So, we find it to be another fitting symbol for rising out of illness. We aspire to provide our patients with this hope and aim to turn it into a reality.
We use both medical recliners and heated soft recliners for our IV procedures, along with heating pads and electric blankets for patient comfort. Our IV Room faces the West and provides beautiful vistas for our patients to enjoy, especially evening sunsets.
For Out-of-Town Patients
Some NOVA IV Therapy patients visit us from other states or regions that are not local to Northern Virginia.
To ensure smooth travel, we provide a few recommendations on where to stay, places to eat, and where you can purchase any staples you may need.
